Natalie’s 3rd Birthday

Well, things seem to be settling into more of a routine now that we’ve been home for a couple weeks and that is a wonderful feeling! Another blessing is that the internet situation seems to be ironed out, too! That means- more posts! Yay! πŸ™‚

First off , I wanted to catch up on some birthdays we’ve had around here! Natalie’s birthday was over 6 weeks ago, so it really is about time. πŸ™‚

I was still on the tail end of my morning sickness the day of her birthday, and we were planning to leave on our long trip the next day. Those things, plus the craziness of keeping up with the power situation during that time, make some memories of that day a bit hazy. πŸ™‚ And that’s when I’m extra thankful for pictures!Β

Natalie was so excited about her “pink party”! Β Before the part even started, she was all smiles! Do you notice all the balloons? Damon blew up every one. What a sweet daddy! And do you notice the princess centerpiece? My girls don’t know who they are, but appreciate the femininity of princesses- and commented on how we need to “make them more modest”. Before the next birthday, we’ll have to do that!

All of her little friends lined up at the table before we started lunch. Β Two of the girls had just returned from a several month visit to family in Germany, causing their English to be a bit rusty. Made for interesting little girl conversations!

I forgot to take a picture of her cake until after we’d cut it. So now you can see the Β pink layers and the white chocolate filling. πŸ™‚ And how much we had left over!

After the finger- food- lunch- that- was- supposed- to- be- accompanied- by- tea/koolaid- but- my- pregnant- brain- fritzed, we played a “Tape the Crown on the Princess” game and presented Natalie with as many pink gifts as we could muster. πŸ™‚ Sadly, no pictures of that!

We had so much fun celebrating our littlest girl with all the pink her little heart could handle. It was precious seeing her feel so loved by the special attention everyone lavished on her. She did get a little confused when asked how old she was, though. She’d go from Felicia’s recent birthday age of “5!” to a wild guess of “8!”. I think she’s got it now, a couple weeks later, because she’s currently and very excitedly planning her “next birthday when I turn 4!”

All the party-go-ers, including the mommies. πŸ™‚

We are so thankful that God gave us our little Natalie!

  1. Sweetness! And I am pretty impressed with the writing on that cake… looks so professional!!

    Happy {late} birthday, little Natalie!

    • Jolene, I cut the messy part out first, so it worked well we didn’t get a picture before those slices were gone. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the compliment, though! πŸ™‚

  2. Your little girls are so beautiful and the birthday is quite cute! I just wanted you to know I am enjoying your posts!

    • Thanks for the kind words, Jubilena! Do you have a blog or something so I can “see” your family? πŸ™‚ Maybe it’s just time I emailed you again! Maybe? πŸ™‚

      • Maybe I should be updating you more often! Maybe the emailing failure is on my part! πŸ™‚
